kees: maybe the only reason to venture into soho: really great chocolates

while i have always loved chocolate, only in the last few years did i begin to indulge myself (and j helped along the way) with purchases of high end chocolates.  somehow the more chocolate i eat the fussier i get, and i have to say that my top choice in new york these days is kee’s chocolates.  located in soho (and i just noticed they have opened a mid-town location too), these chocolates are handmade and super fresh and showcase really exquisite flavors. some of the choices are way out there, but the ones that work, which are many, are transporting including balsamic, kaffir lime and smoked salt.  i highly recommend a drive-by visit to kee’s chocolates but be sure to check ahead and make sure they’re not only open but also have a fresh supply as they often run out.  kee’s chocolates, 80 thompson street between spring and broome, and 452 fifth avenue (inside hsbc) between 39th and 40th, both in manhattan, new york, .
